Share Now..

Healthcare professionals holding a Sharjah Health Authority (SHA) license can apply for licensing with the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), commonly referred to as MOH UAE.

MOHAP requires healthcare professionals to complete professional evaluation and meet the applicable Unified PQR requirements before licensing.

Documents Required

Prepare documents such as:

  • Valid passport copy and photo
  • Degree/Diploma certificate
  • Academic transcript and mark sheets
  • Valid home-country registration
  • SHA professional license
  • SHA experience certificate
  • SHA Good Standing Certificate
  • Previous DataFlow report
  • Previous-country Good Standing Certificate, if applicable
  • Valid BLS for nurses
  • Additional documents according to profession

The Good Standing Certificate should be current; the Unified PQR states that it should be not older than six months at the time of licensing application.

SHA to MOH Process

1. Obtain SHA Good Standing Certificate

First obtain the appropriate Good Standing Certificate supporting your professional practice under SHA.

2. Apply for MOHAP Professional Evaluation

Create the required MOHAP application and apply for Evaluation of Health Professional.

MOHAP evaluation covers physicians, dentists, nurses, midwives, allied healthcare professionals, and other eligible categories.

3. Transfer Previous DataFlow

If DataFlow was already completed under SHA, the previous report can generally be transferred to MOHAP, with additional verification where required. DataFlow lists both SHA and MOHAP among regulators supporting report transfer.

Updated documents such as SHA experience, licensing, or qualifications may need additional verification.

4. Complete MOH Exam if Required

Applicants must complete the prescribed examination when applicable. The assessment requirement depends on professional category, qualification, licensing history, and current MOHAP requirements.

5. Receive MOHAP Evaluation

Once the requirements are successfully completed, the professional can obtain the applicable MOHAP evaluation.

6. Employer Proceeds With Licensing

A MOHAP-licensed healthcare facility can then proceed with the professional licensing process. MOHAP currently requires a valid professional evaluation and verified credentials for professional licensing.

Simple Process

SHA Good Standing → MOHAP Evaluation → DataFlow Transfer → Exam if Required → MOHAP Evaluation Approval → Employer Licensing → MOH License

Important

An SHA license does not automatically convert into a MOHAP license.

Final eligibility depends on your:

Qualification + Experience + Professional Registration + Good Standing + DataFlow + Assessment + PQR requirements
