North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) Application Process:

Internationally graduated candidates:

Requirements:

-completed criminal background check report

  • Valid social security number(need for license process)
    -Pass the NCLEX-
    -within 7-10 business days after nclex pass if all requirements are met, license will be issued.

-criminal back ground history application–fingerprinting-mail hardcopy
-payment information –visa or master card

-Examination Process:

-Once declare you are eligible , you can register in ncsbn and after getting ATT , you can schedule NCLEX RN exam
-North Carolina Board of Nursing does not restrict the number of times a candidate can test for NCLEX Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse.
But 45 day waiting period between tests. ATT will be received within 10 days after NCSBN Registration.
Authorization duration for ATT is 6month.
If you fail, Prior to each re-examination, candidates are required to obtain an Authorization to Test (ATT).
To obtain an authorization, the following must be completed:
Examination Application ($75.00)
Registration and Payment of Fees to Pearson Vue ($200.00)
-Re-examination applicants of International programs must provide a valid English Proficiency Report that includes scores equivalent to North Carolina Board of Nursing requirements.
-Candidates that are unsuccessful with the first NCLEX-RN attempt are eligible to test for NCLEX-PN.
-Receive your official results from the North Carolina Board of Nursing approximately four (4) weeks after your examination.
-Result must be certified and electronically submitted board
-Registered Nurse candidates testing for the NCLEX-PN are not required to wait 45 days prior to testing on the first Practical Nurse attempt.
-All Registered Nurse candidates testing for NCLEX-PN will need to enter US19909900 as the Program Code for both North Carolina Board of Nursing and Pearson Vue.

-Review application for completeness for SSN and CBC
-Once you get license, signup with Nursys e-notify registration-free service
-you will get notification about your license and all other details
-Initial license will be issued within 13-24 months
-Renewable every 2 year during your birth month
-There is no hard copy for your license, it will be there online .
-Status of license can be viewable online-nurses portal
