Healthcare professionals holding a Sharjah Health Authority (SHA) license can apply for professional licensing with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH), subject to qualification, experience, Primary Source Verification, Good Standing, and assessment requirements.
The UAE authorities SHA, DOH, DHA, and MOHAP follow the Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR) for healthcare professional licensing.
Documents Required
Commonly required documents include:
- Valid passport copy and passport-size photo
- Degree/Diploma certificate
- Academic transcript and mark sheets
- Valid home-country professional registration
- SHA professional license
- SHA experience certificate
- SHA Good Standing Certificate
- Previous DataFlow report
- Previous-country Good Standing Certificate, if applicable
- Valid BLS certificate for nurses
- Additional documents according to profession
A Good Standing Certificate used for licensing should generally be valid and not older than six months when applying under the Unified PQR.
SHA to DOH Process
1. Obtain SHA Good Standing Certificate
Get the required Good Standing Certificate supporting your professional practice in Sharjah.
2. Start the DOH Application
Professional licensing applications are processed through the TAMM platform using UAE PASS.
3. Transfer DataFlow Report
If you already completed DataFlow for SHA, the previous PSV report can be transferred/reissued for DOH. Additional documents may need separate verification.
The SHA license, SHA experience, updated qualifications, or other documents may require additional verification depending on the case.
4. DOH Reviews the Application
After PSV completion, DOH reviews your qualification, experience, professional registration, and other requirements.
5. Complete DOH Exam if Required
Holding an SHA license does not automatically guarantee DOH exam exemption. DOH determines whether an assessment is required according to the professional title and applicable requirements.
6. Facility Linking and License Issuance
After completing the required stages, the professional can be linked to an eligible Abu Dhabi healthcare facility and proceed toward DOH license issuance.
