Recently, received an official response from the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi, regarding license transfers. The clarification provided is crucial for healthcare professionals, especially those in the dental field.
❗️Key Point from DOH:
The Abu Dhabi Health Authority exam is exempted only when transferring a license from DHA or MOH to DOH except for dentists and their specialties.
This means:
- Doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals may be eligible to transfer without taking the DOH exam.
- However, dentists and dental specialists are not exempted from the DOH exam requirement and cannot directly transfer their license from DHA/MOH to DOH.
🔍 What Does This Mean for You?
If you are a licensed dentist or dental specialist in Dubai or under MOH and you wish to practice in Abu Dhabi:
- You must go through the standard DOH licensing process, including any required exams.
- The exemption route does not apply to dental professionals.
