Oman MOH License for Allied Health & Paramedical Professionals: Application Process, Documents and Exams:

Share Now..

Allied health professionals planning to work in Oman need to complete the appropriate registration, credential verification, professional assessment and licensing requirements.

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MOH) manages practitioner registration and licensing, while the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) provides occupational classification examinations and qualification verification and equivalency services. The exact pathway depends on your profession, qualification and employing institution.

This guide focuses mainly on the private healthcare sector, using MOH’s published allied medical licensing procedure and current official service information.

Who Should Use This Guide?

This guide is relevant to applicants seeking allied health or paramedical roles, including physiotherapy, medical laboratory services, dietetics and other technical healthcare professions.

Before starting, confirm the exact professional title MOH will assess. A qualification accepted for one title does not establish eligibility for another.

Eligibility and Experience Requirements

The November 2025 MOH private-sector allied medical procedure lists:

QualificationRecent experience listed
Bachelor’s degreeTwo years
DiplomaThree years

These are the published general requirements for this pathway. Your qualification and experience must still be accepted for the specific position. Fresh graduates should obtain individual eligibility guidance before paying for verification or examinations.

Documents Required for an Oman Allied Health License

Prepare clear scans of the following:

Core Application Documents

  1. Valid passport.
  2. Updated CV or resume.
  3. Relevant bachelor’s degree or diploma.
  4. Academic transcripts or mark sheets.
  5. Recent clinical experience certificates.
  6. Previous professional registration or licence.
  7. Employer or sponsor’s letter.
  8. DataFlow verification report.
  9. Applicable Pearson VUE examination result.
  10. Police Clearance Certificate.

The MOH registration service lists qualifications, transcripts, experience and previous registration. Its separate private-sector allied medical procedure adds the sponsor letter, CV, passport, verification, testing and police-clearance requirements.

Additional Licensing Documents

The relevant licensing service also lists identity documents, insurance and a BLS certificate. Confirm the required format and validity for your category with the employer and MOH before submission.

Documents in languages other than Arabic or English require translation. MOH may request further supporting evidence during individual review.

Oman Allied Health License Process: Step by Step

Step 1: Confirm Your Professional Category

Ask the employer or licensing department to confirm:

  • Your proposed professional title.
  • Whether your qualification and recent experience meet the requirements.
  • Which examination and assessment apply.
  • Whether qualification equivalency is required in your case.

This helps avoid booking an examination that does not match your intended licence.

Step 2: Complete Credential Verification

Arrange primary-source verification through the applicable Oman DataFlow pathway. OMSB uses verification to check educational, employment and professional-registration credentials.

Verification and equivalency are separate decisions: verification checks authenticity; equivalency evaluates the qualification’s accepted level. Follow the instructions issued for your application

Step 3: Complete the Applicable OMSB Examination

OMSB occupational classification examinations are delivered through Pearson VUE. Its published examination list includes physiotherapy, medical laboratory specialists and dietetics.

Check your profession’s official examination content before booking. Do not select a similarly named examination without confirming that it matches your category.

For booking:

  1. Create a Pearson VUE account.
  2. Enter your details exactly as shown on your passport.
  3. Select the appropriate OMSB examination.
  4. Choose an available centre and date.
  5. Pay the booking fee and retain the confirmation.

Non-Omani candidates must bring a valid original passport to the test centre. Healthcare Professional Competency Assessment

Step 4: Complete MOH Practitioner Registration

Use the MOH Health Practitioners Registration service to create an account, submit documents and respond to review queries.

Successful registration produces a registration number. The service covers applicants inside and outside Oman who intend to work in public or private healthcare institutions.

Step 5: Submit the Employer-Supported Private-Sector Application

Coordinate with the employing facility to submit the appointment and assessment application through the MOH portal.

The published private-sector procedure includes document review, assessment scheduling, labour formalities and final licence issuance.

Step 6: Complete the Required MOH Interview or Assessment

Do not assume a Pearson VUE pass completes every assessment requirement.

MOH operates a separate interview and examination booking service. The employing private facility must hold a valid licence and meet the service’s conditions. Follow the assessment instructions issued for your application

Step 7: Complete Immigration and Employment Formalities

Where applicable, the MOH portal provides letters supporting visa and Ministry of Labour procedures after the relevant approvals and assessment results. Coordinate these stages with your employer.

Step 8: Pay the Licensing Fee and Obtain Your Licence

Complete the final requirements and payment, then obtain the issued professional licence.

Treat registration, examination results and the final practice licence as separate milestones. Confirm licence issuance before beginning clinical duties.

Are There Examination Exemptions?

The official sources reviewed do not establish a general allied-health exemption simply because an applicant holds a DHA, DOH, MOHAP, SCFHS or another GCC licence.

Applicants seeking exemption should obtain a written decision from MOH or OMSB for their exact category. A postgraduate qualification or extensive experience should not be presented as an automatic waiver.

Oman Allied Health Licensing Fees

The following published amounts relate to different stages:

StagePublished amount
MOH health practitioner registrationFree
MOH interview/exam booking for techniciansOMR 50
Non-Omani allied health/nursing licence issuanceOMR 50

These are separate charges, rather than one complete package. Verification, Pearson VUE testing, translations, insurance and immigration costs may add to the total. Confirm the amount displayed for your application before payment.

How Long Does the Process Take?

MOH lists five business days after a complete application for practitioner registration. This is one administrative stage, rather than the total licensing timeline.

Verification responses, examination availability, assessment scheduling and employment formalities can extend the overall process. Avoid making travel or joining commitments based only on the registration service timeline.
