Critical Care Paramedic Job Description
A Critical Care Paramedic provides advanced prehospital and interfacility care to critically ill or severely injured patients who require continuous monitoring and complex medical support.
Main responsibilities include:
Performing advanced patient assessments
Managing difficult airways and ventilation
Monitoring ECG and haemodynamic status
Administering emergency and critical-care medications
Managing cardiac, respiratory and neurological emergencies
Providing advanced trauma care
Operating ventilators, infusion pumps and monitoring equipment
Stabilizing patients before and during transport
Responding to sudden clinical deterioration
Communicating with emergency and hospital teams
Maintaining accurate patient documentation
