MRI Technologist Job Description
An MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to produce detailed diagnostic images of the body using strong magnetic fields and radiofrequency energy.
Main responsibilities include:
Screening patients for MRI contraindications
Explaining procedures and preparing patients
Positioning patients accurately
Selecting appropriate coils and imaging protocols
Operating MRI scanners and related equipment
Monitoring patients throughout the examination
Administering contrast media within the authorised scope
Recognising contrast reactions and emergencies
