1. Application Fee

  • A non-refundable fee of $170 (USD) must be paid to the NMI Board of Nursing at the time of application

2. Personal Identification Documents

Applicants must upload the following documents:

  • Certified true copy of Birth Certificate
  • Certified true copy of Marriage Certificate (if name changed due to marriage) or Divorce Decree (if applicable)
  • U.S. passport-size photo (2″x2″, white background, taken within 6 months, signed at the bottom front; colored backgrounds will NOT be accepted)
  • Photocopy of Passport

3. Academic Credentials

Foreign applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The following academic documents are required:

  • Official College Transcript sent directly by the nursing school (uploaded copies will not be accepted).
  • Transcript must clearly specify the Pharmacology course—if integrated, it should be separately identified.
  • Certificate of Related Learning Experience (CRLE) mailed directly by the nursing school
  • High School Transcript may be uploaded but must bear the school’s official seal or authentication stamp

4. Employment Experience (if BSN completed over 10 years ago)

  • Applicants who graduated more than 10 years prior to application must submit a Certificate of Employment (COE) on official company letterhead, signed, verifying nursing-related work experience within the last 5 years
  • If unable to provide a COE, applicants must complete a Board-approved Refresher Course via:

Any change in name or address must be updated in the online portal with official legal proof such as a certified marriage certificate or court order

Once the application is approved by the NMI Board of Nursing:

  1. Applicants will receive eligibility notification to register with Pearson Vue for the NCLEX exam
  2. Register Pearsonvue wxam
  3. Ensure the same email address is used for both the NMI application and Pearson Vue registration
  4. Receive Authorization to Test (ATT) via email – required to enter the testing center
  5. Schedule the exam date promptly before the ATT expires

7. Licensing After Exam

  • Upon passing the NCLEX, applicants will be issued a license number electronically
  • Physical license cards are no longer issued but can be requested separately through the NMI Board website for an additional fee
