Beware of Fake Part-Time Job Scams, Warns Dubai Police

Dubai Police have warned the public to remain vigilant against fake part-time job scams that are increasingly being carried out through social media platforms.

According to the warning, fraudsters lure job seekers by promising high salaries and attractive part-time work opportunities. However, their real aim is to collect registration fees, banking details, and other sensitive personal information from victims.

Authorities said that in many cases, the scammers also misuse victims’ bank accounts for illegal activities, often without the actual account holder’s knowledge or consent. For some victims, the fraud comes to light only after they face legal consequences.

Dubai Police advised job seekers to verify the credibility of both the employer and the company before accepting any job offer.

The public has also been urged not to share bank account details, Emirates ID numbers, OTPs, or other confidential information with strangers or on untrustworthy websites. People are also advised not to respond to unknown messages received through email or WhatsApp.

Officials stressed that no one should ever pay money in exchange for a job opportunity.

Authorities said that suspicious activities or attempted scams can be reported through the call centre (901) or via the e-crime platform.
