Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) Licensure Examination Overview

The Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) is the sole regulatory authority for nurses and midwives in Singapore.

Foreign-trained nurses who are offered employment in Singapore must pass the SNB Licensure Examination (LE) to be registered as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN). This exam assesses core competencies and generic skills based on SNB standards (2023), ensuring safe and effective nursing practice.

Authorisation for SNB Licensure Exam

To be eligible:

• You must have a job offer from an approved Singapore healthcare employer.

• The employer’s HR department will apply to SNB on your behalf.

• Once approved, you’ll receive an Authorisation to Test (ATT) email from Pearson VUE.

Exam Registration and Scheduling

• After receiving the ATT email, create an account on the Pearson VUE website.

• Schedule your exam within the authorised period mentioned in the email.

• Book early to secure your preferred date and venue.

• Payment is required to confirm your booking.

• A confirmation email will be sent—print and bring it along with other required documents on exam day.

Identification Requirement

• Bring your valid passport on exam day.

• Failure to bring the correct ID will result in exam cancellation and fee forfeiture.

Exam Day: Key Details

• Accept the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) within 5 minutes at the start of the test. Failing to do so will terminate the exam.

• A short tutorial will follow to help you navigate the test interface.

• The exam consists of multiple-choice questions, to be completed within 60 minutes.

• An on-screen calculator will be available.

Exam Results

• Results are sent directly to your prospective employer.

• Pearson VUE will not release results to candidates.
