A Clinical Scientist in Blood Banking and Transfusion performs and supervises specialised laboratory procedures to ensure the safe collection, testing, preparation and transfusion of blood and blood components.
Main responsibilities include:

Investigating transfusion reactions
Selecting suitable blood components for patients
